Wes Lindberg ~ Infrared Art Photography

Today I spent much of the day working on my blog, these things take time. There are many custom themes, however I’d really like to create my own, which I could with more time but it might just be easier to find a theme I like and modify it. Nothing worth while is ever easy! I found a few and downloaded them, then unzipped them, then uploaded them to my server. Next I selected one and began customizing it. First off search my image database, well not the whole database as that is over 34,000 digital images. I’ve got to narrow the search, maybe just my infrared images, 5,800. Well in the end I just looked through my 4 star selects, 57 of them. I found one that might work, cropped it to fit my header and upload it to the correct folder, I think. Nice, it appears where it’s supposed to. Do I really like this theme, I don’t know but I think I need to let it ride for a while and get back to watercoloring my art images.

After 22 years traveling the country selling my artwork, I went back to school, earned a degree, was hired full time as a professor at our local community college and continued to learn more and more about video production, editing, web design, graphic design, and the list goes on and on. The important part is that I’m having great fun. This year after 8 years away from my art as a main focus, I am now back at it again with my Infrared Black and Light series. These images are created with my converted Canon 10D which only captures infrared images. In the years past I shot many rolls of infrared film, developing and printing the images on my own hand made paper using emulsions made from watercolor pigments, gum arabic and ammonium dichromate.

My boss, Jorge Ibanez, set up a one man show for me here in Gainesville at the Hippodrome Gallery for the month of August, the party will be during Artwalk Friday August 29, 2008. I hope to see you there. You can preview some of my images here on my website. Enjoy!
