Well we finally got a couple of days at the beach. My high school buddy, Rande, and his wife, Cathe, were welcome hosts as we ventured down to Sarasota. They own Used Stuff in downtown Sarasota and live 15 minutes from the beach so we spent one night with them and the next at a little motel on Siesta Key. We watched the sunset, then their daughter, Sara, joined us for dinner nearby. As usual I have my infrared Canon DSLR and my color Canon DSLR close to my side often capturing images with both. I really wanted to switch lenses but didn’t dare on the salty sandy beach, so the color shots were taken with my Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 lens and the infrared shots were captured with the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. I did get a few nice color shots the next day at the Selby Botanical Gardens using an extension tube and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens (see my Flickr set http://www.flickr.com/wesleyray/ ). Yesterday I ordered a roll of canvas for my art printer and hope to offer prints on canvas as well as my archival art prints on watercolor paper. Stay posted for a shopping cart update soon
Well it has been a long time but I’ve been really busy helping my dear friend Samuel Ruder. He’s an artist, a watercolor artist, and at this point in time starving, well pretty close. Show fees these days are $200-$500 and most times an artist can only sell $200-$300 if they are lucky, so they are slowly sliding further into debt. I’m trying to help him make some sales on the web and have coached him into starting a blog to keep the world informed. If you get a moment pass his link around the world and see if we can stimulate an artist. Thanks.
BTW, most of the sawmill has been moved to Ft.White and I think I can get the last three pieces in one more trip, with help from my friend Jim. I’ll keep you posted.
